Our Journey.

Since our inception, we have developed a strong reputation for delivering outstanding service. We are passionate about honest, friendly, human interaction and have extensive fundraising and marketing experience between us.

We are incredibly proud to work with a portfolio of regional, national, and international charities to protect and enhance their brand reputations online, as well as supporting them to deliver their virtual fundraising challenges, which have collectively raised in excess of £15 million.

Our team is led by CEO and founder, Helen Alderson.

Helen is incredibly passionate about the third sector and has over fifteen years’ experience through working with national and local charities.Helen ensures we maintain high standards and enthusiasm for the work we do.


Head of Operations

Ashley is our Head of Operations and uses the skills gained from leadership roles within St Oswald's Hospice, The Key and Bright Red to ensure our organisation runs as smoothly as possible.

Head of Virtual Challenges

Livvy is our Head of Virtual Challenges and has worked in the third sector for nine years in organisations such as Diabetes UK, Breast Cancer Now and Shelter.

She loves to bring joy to any situation and support our incredible charity partners to achieve their goals!

Our team is led by founder of Social AF, Helen Alderson. Helen is incredibly passionate about the charity sector and has over a decades experience through working with national and local charities.

Helen ensures we maintain high standards and enthusiasm for the work we do.


Marketing Manager

Sophie is our Marketing Manager and brings a broad range of experience from both fundraising and communications roles within charities such as Child Bereavement UK and Addaction.

She loves the positive impact our work has on the third sector.

Meet Jen, our optimistic, creative and diligent Team Leader who can hold a conversation about almost anything!

Jen brings a wealth of experience from her time working at Help for Heroes, The British Museum and Sense.


Lucy loves meeting new people and helping them to get the most from their interactions. She loves solving problems and finding different ways to encourage people.

Lucy previously worked at British Red Cross, Cats Protection and Re-Cycle.

Georgia has previously worked at Shelter, Marie Curie and IAPWA.


Kate is a highly experienced digital fundraiser and uses her vast knowledge and passion for the sector to support the team.

Kate has previously worked with Marie Curie, St Clare's Hospice and GivePanel.

Claire goes above and beyond for participants and her colleagues each and every day. Claire has many years of fundraising experience with charities such as Breast Cancer Care and Blind Veterans.


Ben is calm, encouraging and brings a wealth of community fundraising experience from working with local charities such as Bright Red and Live Well With Cancer.

Loren uses her enthusiasm and teamwork skills to help unite groups and bring them closer to the causes they choose to support. Loren has previously worked at Alzheimer's Society, NSPCC and Children with Cancer UK


Katie has devoted over 21 years to the third sector and has held a range of roles, including Head of Fundraising at NASS and The Purple Elephant Project. Katie brings her calm, compassionate and thoughtful personality to every group and is an amazing asset to the team.


Zoe is our enthusiastic, travel-loving, beacon of positivity. Zoe has previously held senior roles in charities such as Ethical Journalism Network, The Fore, The Scottish Beacon and loves how our work brings so many different characters together.


For seven years Amy was the Challenge Events Fundraising Manager at Bone Cancer Research and she utilises every bit of that experience in her positive and energetic social media moderation. Her focus on donor stewardship helps deepen supporter’s connection to the cause at every interaction.


Megan uses her outgoing nature to help participants come together on Facebook challenges to form their own little community. Megan previously worked at St Oswald's Hospice.

Megan is a friendly and adventurous moderator. Her favourite thing is seeing communities cheer each other on. Megan also works at Macmillan Cancer Support.


Laura brings a whole load of enthusiasm and creativity to moderation and can always be relied upon to put a smile on your face with her elite GIF game! Laura's previous experience includes roles at The Woodland Trust and The Furniture Makers'​ Company.


Meet Karla, our always-smiling, super-positive and hard-working moderator. Karla loves being part of creating a meaningful community and brings a wealth of experience from her roles at charities such as Supporting Communities, South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust.


It's safe to say Diane could talk the hind legs off a donkey! She has worked in the charity sector for many years, including roles within Community Foundation Wakefield District and Tang Hall Community Centre. Diane loves to provide support and motivation to others.


Hannah B is a super warm, positive and diligent member of the team. She takes care to champion every challenge member and support them throughout. Hannah has previously worked with The Princes Trust.

Hollie is a very experienced community and events fundraiser and brings a whole load of skills and personality to the role. Experience includes time at Refugee Action, CentrePoint and ShelterBox.


Sarah is a trusted comms expert and a safe pair of hands for any charity. Sarah has worked as a Digital Content Manager, Head of Marketing and a Digital Specialist.


Hannah L AKA Best Conversation Starter! Hannah is brilliant at getting the conversation going and loves seeing supporters sharing their progress. Hannah has years of fundraising experience through working with Samaritans and Anthony Nolan.

Annabel has worked within the third sector for many years, both within charities and as an event manager for a tour operator. Annabel has a great understanding of both partner and participant needs, and uses her exceptional communication skills to make the most of every interaction.
